Position Summary
The Engineer Reliability reports to the Manager Reliability and is responsible for aircraft, power plant and component trend / performance analysis in support of the Reliability portion of the Continuing Analysis Surveillance System (CASS).
Essential Responsibilities
Collects data from maintenance and engineering systems and performs statistical analysis to monitor and evaluate the operational and technical performance of the JetBlue fleet
Analyzes technical data from aircraft maintenance log and aircraft service records to determine cause and failure trends
Monitors delays, pilot write-ups and other technical interruptions and evaluates data for trends
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in developing trend-monitoring reports using visualization tools such as Spotfire, Palantir Foundry, Tableau etc.
Analyzes component shop finding reports to determine cause and failure trends and interfaces with business partners to develop solutions
Produces weekly and monthly Reliability Reports and provides on-demand technical reports to Technical Operations management as needed to evaluate aircraft, powerplant and component reliability performance
Participates and presents at daily, weekly and monthly Reliability and Performance meetings. Tracks significant findings as action items
Assists in managing the Repeat Items, Category (CAT) II / III, Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) and Rogue component programs
Analyzes Heavy Maintenance data to determine cause of failures, makes recommendations for Maintenance Program adjustments and implements Maintenance Program Escalations
Maintains awareness of Extended Twin Engine Operations (ETOPS) significant systems. Monitors and resolves technical issues associated with ETOPS operations. Assists the department to establish, administer and ensure the quality of the ETOPS Significant Systems Program. Assists the department to ensure ETOPS aircraft continue to meet requirements for configuration, maintenance and procedures for extended range operations

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Math or a related field. In lieu of this education requirement, must have a Bachelor’s degree in another Engineering field and an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Technician Certificate, OR must have an Associate's degree in a technical field, an A&P Technician Certificate, and three (3) years of A&P Technician experience
Three (3) years of related experience
Strong mathematics knowledge
Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and probability distributions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain aircraft fleet operations statistical results to groups with diverse mathematical abilities
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
Comfortable with changing priorities on short to no notice
Available for occasional overnight travel (20%)
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Knowledge of coding (R, Python)
Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
Knowledge of Commercial Aircraft Systems
Knowledge and experience with the following programs / processes : Maintenance Programs, Reliability / Continuing Analysis Surveillance System (CASS), Maintenance, Inspection and Engineering Processes
Knowledge of maintenance and engineering database programs i.e., TRAX, Snowflake
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s) pertaining to 121 Air Carrier operations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
Able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation
The base pay range for this position is between $90,000.00 and $118,400.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
