JetRide Boat Club is a premier membership-based boat club offering access to a fleet of high-quality boats across multiple locations in Florida. Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Marine Sander and Gel Fill Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and finishing the surfaces of marine vessels, using sanders and applying gel coat fill to restore, protect, and enhance the exterior of boats and ships. The role requires expertise in surface preparation, finishing techniques, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sand and smooth the hulls and other surfaces of boats to prepare for gel coat application.
- Ensure surfaces are free from imperfections, debris, and contaminants.
- Mix and apply gel coats to boats and ships according to specifications, ensuring uniform coverage and proper curing.
- Fill in imperfections and cracks in the boat’s surface with gel fill materials to restore its integrity and aesthetic.
- Sand the applied gel coat to a smooth, glossy finish.
- Polish the gel coat for a high-quality, durable shine.
- Inspect surfaces for any defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety procedures and industry standards.
- Maintain and care for sanding tools, gel coat applicators, and other equipment.
- Ensure proper functioning of all tools and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Work closely with other technicians and team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standard.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding project progress and any challenges.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in the marine industry, particularly with sanding and gel coating, is preferred.
- Ability to work with hand and power tools, including sanders, grinders, and sprayers.
- Familiarity with gel coat materials, mixing, and application techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments, including extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
- Good manual dexterity and the ability to work with precision.
- Knowledge of proper safety protocols, including the use of protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and respirators.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
