What is JetZero?
Today’s aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase : Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.
JetZero is developing a blended-wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

This is why we’re hiring a Propulsion Performance Engineer. You will be responsible for supporting the definition of requirements for propulsion, auxiliary power, nacelle, and Engine Build-Up. You will also define, coordinate and control the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.

What You'll Do
Propulsion Integration – You will work in a multi-disciplinary design environment and interact with aerodynamics, power and thermal management systems, flight sciences, subsystems, and others to support vehicle performance design and modeling initiatives. You will also be required to interface with engine companies and other suppliers.
Aircraft Engine Performance Modeling – You will analyze the performance of installed engines using NPSS, conduct engine / airframe integration trades, and support tests to enable and inform air-vehicle system studies in conceptual and preliminary design programs.
Safety and Certification – You will assist in developing specifications for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements. You will also assist in performing certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components. You will help develop FHA, SSA reports, Test Proposals, Test Results, certification plans, and Issue Papers.
Modeling and Simulation – You will use various testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance. You will also execute aero-thermo models of propulsion systems to aid in vehicle design and evaluation.
Product Support – You will support fielded systems to assure continued reliability and airworthiness.
Product Innovation – You will support the development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.
What You'll Bring :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- 5 years' experience in an engineering role.
- Experience with NPSS, AxStream, CAD, and software tools such as MathWorks Matlab and Simulink preferred.
Compensation :
Our compensation package is a blend of base salary and equity options for eligible employees. The range for this role is $100,000 - $150,000. We consider a number of factors when presenting a final offer, including geography, internal equity and years of experience and expertise.
