Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead the creation and refinement of key corporate messages that reflect the company’s values, vision, and culture. Oversee the production of speeches, executive presentations, and corporate reports.
- Lead communication support and direction for strategic initiatives and daily support of internal communications activities.
- Support and maintains JM’s brand standards and develops editorial and video content for the intranet, digital signage system, newsletters, presentations and other internal communication channels.
- Develops, directs and executes internal communications plan for all JM sites to ensure they are aligned with the company narrative, its’ people-focused achievements, company culture/values and other topics to support the company as a great place to work.
- Prepares content, executes, and facilitates internal communications, such as town halls, internal newsletters, video briefs and scripts, and all related messaging; in addition, engages with employees and leaders across the business to determine the appropriate audience, timing, channels, and verbiage for outgoing messages.
- Partners cross-functionally across teams in close collaboration with Human Resources, Operations and other functions both internally and externally to execute communication initiatives from concept to delivery, while championing the inclusion of our employee and leadership voice.
- Strategic thought leader that collaborates across the organization through innovative, creative, problem-solving thinking resulting in actionable steps.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing organizational priorities and update the communications strategy accordingly.
- Modernizing the internal communications function, bringing best practices to the table, to better inform the overall internal communications strategy.

Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
- The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5-7 years of increasingly responsible experience in internal communications or communications program management, including both strategic and execution work.
- High mindset with a driven, go-getter, can-do mentality
- Excellent verbal, writing, and editing skills - superior writing and communication skills are essential.
- Experience in project management with ability to organize and re-prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to learn how to use data and apply insights to communications strategies.
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment and collaborating with a diverse group of people, both internally and externally.
- Experience in managing cross-functional internal stakeholder groups and working closely with C-Suite executives as a regular part of your role.
- Excellent writing and research skills, with knowledge of AP style and a keen attention to detail.
- Fluency in communications tools and technology such as Canva, Contact, Adobe Suite, Monkey (or MailChimp), etc.
- Experience with corporate video projects and working with outside agencies to execute projects as needed.
- Enterprise mindset and experience with extensive internal and corporate communications, including corporate reputation, change management / organizational communications, and employee engagement.
- Property/casualty insurance, financial services and/or jewelry industry experience is desired, but not required.
- Travel as needed to Jewelers Mutual locations up to 20%.
