- Design, develop, and maintain scalable transformation pipelines that shape raw data into structured, analytics-ready models using SQL, Python, and modern data orchestration tools.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define and implement target data models that meet analytical and reporting needs.
- Capture data quality rules and implement testing frameworks (e.g., data validation, unit tests) to ensure the reliability, integrity, and correctness of transformed data.
- Create and maintain clear documentation of data models, transformation logic, and pipeline processes to support team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with industry trends and tools, advocating for best practices in data transformation, version control (e.g., Git), and analytics engineering workflows.
- Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with data platform engineers, ensuring seamless data flow from ingestion to analytics.
- 4-6 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related role, with a strong focus on data transformation and modeling.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming large datasets.
- Experience with data transformation tools like dbt (data build tool) or similar.
- Familiarity with Python or another scripting language for pipeline development.
- Knowledge of data orchestration platforms (e.g., Apache Airflow, Prefect).
- Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Proficiency in data warehousing techniques (star schema, data vault 2.0)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Ability to translate business needs into technical data models and transformation workflows.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with software engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong focus on data quality, testing, and documentation to ensure trustworthy outputs.
