General Responsibilities:
Manages, directs and plans the provision of Social Casework services to clients and families in accordance with the standards of the social work profession, the funding source and JASA.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management, planning, control and day-to-day operation of a group of programs which may include casework, elder abuse, caregiver respite, etc.
- Supervision of social work and support staff, screening for program eligibility, triage for emergency intervention and assignment to appropriate staff.
- Direction of social work staff in their provision of in-home and in-office assessment of the client, utilizing prescribed standardized assessment instruments
- Monitoring of staff and case review with regard to ongoing reassessment of client need, monitoring of service efficacy and appropriate revision of the care plan.
- Provides assistance to social workers regarding decision making on case issues.
- Informs District Director of situations of crisis or circumstances where a worker requires further guidance.
- Assists on office protocol, statistical reporting and program monitoring standards.
- Monitors statistical reporting and program monitoring standards. Is available to borough director regarding decision making on issues related to the program.
- Monitors quality assurance compliance.
- Assists in the preparation of renewal applications and proposals for existing JASA programs funded through governmental, foundation or
other sources.
- Represents and interprets the agency at community conferences and meetings.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master of Social Work.
- New York State Certificate in Social Work.
- Minimum of 5 years post Master's level experience in social work.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to provide professional supervision and leadership to social work staff.
- Knowledge of STARS program preferred.
- Understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation and individual values as they relate to serving clients and families.
