We are looking for food and nutrition associates to join our team at either our main campus location (200 JHF Drive) or at our personal care community in the heart of Squirell Hill.
*Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Washes, rinses and sanitizes pots, pans, plates, glasses and silverware and restock them to the proper area of the kitchen. Keeps meat and dairy items stored separate.
- Cleans all kitchen surfaces and equipment according to posted cleaning schedules.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors and walk in coolers as assigned.
- Assists with preparation of items needed for catering.
- Acts as wait staff in the dining room taking resident meal orders and serving the meal.
- Operates, assembles, disassembles, cleans and delimes the dish machine properly.
- Immediately cleans up all floor spills as directed.
- Responsible for the upkeep of department hand sinks, floors, trash, dishwashing and pot and pan washing.
- Prepares leftover food for proper storage labeled with description of food and date.
- Retrieves sorts and washes all dishes from the dining room.
- Records dish machine temperatures at each meal washing service.
- Keeps dish room area and service areas clean and orderly at all times.
- Demonstrates knowledge of emergency and safety procedures, including completing incident and accident reports.
- Demonstrates knowledge of proper infection control procedures including cleaning, storage and food handling.
- Identifies potential maintenance issues and reports them to their supervisor.
- Must have great appreciation and respect for Jewish dietary laws by following the strict instructions of the Mashgiach.
- Responsible for participating in and supporting the resident centered programs.
- Must adhere to the expectations of the department head and/or supervisors.
- Must be in proper supplied uniform and maintain cleaning of the uniform.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or deemed necessary.
- Assist in training as needed.
Required Education, Training and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Must be capable of communicating with supervisors, staff, residents and families in an appropriate and professional manner.
- Must be able to follow all rules and regulations of the facility and regulatory agencies.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as standing, reaching, turning, bending, lifting, pulling, pushing and kneeling.
- Must be able to carry or lift items that weigh up to 50 pounds as assigned.
- Manage exposure to chemicals and cleaning solutions.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with every staff member.
