POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Residence Manager responsible for the supervision and guidance of all Direct Support staff (case assistants), ensuring that proper coverage is maintained and that appropriate training is provided. As an integral part of the clinical team, the Assistance Residence Manager will ensure that all necessary therapeutic interventions determined by the clinical team are carried out, ensure the safe operation of the facility, and assist in maximizing the functioning of disable adults in order prevent hospitalizations.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Directly supervise and provide supervision for all Direct Support Professionals (DSP).
  • Ensure appropriate coverage for shifts.
  • Prepare weekly staff schedules and ensure facility is adequately staff on all shifts.
  • Track Staff Attendance and uphold agency policy and procedures regarding time and attendance.
  • Weekly group or one to one supervision with direct reports.
  • Attend weekly supervision with Program Director
  • Provide training to Milieu staff as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed
  • Plan with administrative staff, the objectives and scope of the department
  • Monitors Inventory
  • Ensures that monthly Fire Drills are completed and documented
  • Supervises apartment/facility inspections to ensure that all safety and sanitary conditions are maintained.
  • Ensure that the residents understand the rules and regulations of the facility in which they are housed.
  • Monitors and ensures that security is maintained within the facility.
  • Monitors the daily log to ensure compliance
  • Participates in regular staff meetings and training
  • Completes regular and timely documentation of all client interactions, including informational notes; completes incident reports as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team Process

  • Participates in regular staff meetings and trainings. May be asked to travel to some off-site meetings and trainings.
  • Participates in planning and execution of special and holiday events.

Documentation

  • Completes regular and timely documentation of all resident interactions, including progress and informational notes.
  • Complete/Files incident reports as appropriate.
  • Facilitates roommate meetings.
  • Ensure Fire Drills are complete document to upload in the system
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to travel to visit clients in apartments or to escort clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive agency van preferred.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • BA in related discipline required.
  • HS diploma/HSE required and at least three years of experience in a Residential Domestic Violence Program preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:

  • Willingness to work with a population who have survived the trauma of Domestic Violence population, many with experiences of homelessness, mental illness and substance use.
  • Compassion and respect for vulnerable individuals.
  • Patience and understanding for the sometimes slow process of stabilization and recovery.

COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Technologically competent in handling of administrative practices
