Description
The Babysitter is a high-profile position expected to deliver the highest level of service to our members exemplifying professionalism and insuring we adhere to a safe environment at all times. The Babysitter is responsible for the care of children as well as performing cleaning duties in the Kid Kare Room. This person has the responsibility of being responsive to members, greeting them warmly and creating a safe, welcoming, friendly environment.
Essential Tasks
To continuously attend to the needs of each individual child making them safe, happy and comfortable during their stay in our Kid Kare area.
To communicate in a positive and professional manner with each and every parent, while still ensuring the safety of the children.
To participate as part of a team, in a cooperative manner, with all co-workers and managers.
To maintain consistent and appropriate standards of childcare.
To make interaction with each child a priority, so that each child feels included. Socialization with other childcare providers cannot affect your ability to interact with the children.
Project and promote a professional image.
Demonstrate the ability to interact with children in an age-appropriate manner.
Attend all in-service trainings and required meetings.
Keep physically fit in order to perform the job effectively.
Greet members with a welcoming smile and atmosphere.
Maintain Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
Report to manager about broken equipment.
Maintain work areas in clean and orderly manner at all times.
Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by the JCA.
Promote JCA services and activities.
Maintain professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
All employees are to be at work 10 minutes prior to scheduled start times in preparation for their shift.
Lock all doors at closing of Kid Kare.
Assist with special projects, events and promotions as needed.
Support staff in the enforcement of all rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
CPR/AED and First Aid Certified.
Language Skills
Ability to speak grammatically correct with clear language and comprehensively understand language when spoken at a normal speed.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read, write and comprehend the concept of time.
Reasoning Ability
General intelligence and decision-making skills.
Must exhibit a strong interest in working with children.
Excellent human relations, communications, member service skills.
Cooperative and friendly attitude.
Ability to exhibit enthusiasm for the job and the JCA.
Creative thinking, implementation and promotion of new and existing programs.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must be able to follow directions; must be able to relay information to others; must be able to read and comprehend memos, notes and in-service materials; must be able to write using proper language and sentence structure; and must be able to successfully complete CPR, first aid and other in-service requirements as needed.
Physical Demands
Requires three to four hours of standing or sitting on the floor.
Grasping and gripping movements.
Ability to get up and down off the floor with ease.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Continuous exposure to moderate to loud noise.
Occasional exposure to bodily fluids.
Occasional lifting, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and bending.
Work Environment
Temperature controlled Child Care Room with adjacent restroom.
