Slide Attendant - Seasonal May - September
About the Opportunity:
If you are good at measuring (either English or metric system), looking for a first job to give you some work experience, and value a shark-free environment, this job is for you! Come join the JCC’s aquatics team as a slide attendant.
What you'll be doing:
- At the entrance to the slide, monitor access to water slide and only permit individuals who meet the height requirement to ride the slide (it’s a safety thing)
- At the top of the slide, make sure participants are being safe (their positioning, timing of their slide, etc.)
- Scan the catch pool and make sure swimmers are a safe distance from the slide exit (another safety thing)
- Balance keeping everyone safe while also making them feel welcome
- Embrace and model the JCC Internal Service Standards of Respect, Gratitude, Communication, The Golden Rule, and Ownership/Accountability
What you bring to the table:
- Must be at least 14 years old
- CPR/AED for the professional rescuer (classes available at the JCC)
- Must have the ability to swim (as determined by a swim test)
- Ability to see and hear participants, alert staff and communicate effectively
- Maintain current First Aid Certification
- Willingness to work am, pm and weekend shifts

Work Environment:
Mobility is a must as you climb up and down the slide stairs and stand for long periods of time. Extended exposure to sunlight and outdoor elements is expected and it can get noisy. But it is a shark-free environment.
