Summary: The Maintenance I staff member responds to member, visitor, and staff member requests for maintenance repair, cleaning, and support service in a professional and expedient manner.

Essential Functions:
- Responds to member, visitor, and staff maintenance repair, cleaning, and support services requests in a professional and expedient manner.
- Maintains the facility and maintenance work spaces in a professional and conscientious manner at all times.
- Recognizes facilities defects and corrects them without being directed to do so or report them immediately to a supervisor as needed.
- Performs clean-up work including; emergency clean-ups, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, washing windows, high dusting, detail cleaning and wall washing.
- Keeps the campus clean including sweeping outside buildings and structures.
- Conduct daily blow down of entrances, landscaping beds, and sidewalks.
- Patrolling the exterior grounds for trash and debris.
- Sets-up and re-arranges furniture per written schematic or verbally as assigned.
- Accepts and make deliveries of supplies and various materials throughout the facility.
- During winter months, removes snow with a snow blower or shovel from entrances and sidewalks. Salts walkways as needed throughout the day.
- Clean mechanical rooms and other areas as instructed.
- Replaces light bulbs as necessary.
- Plunges sinks and toilets
- Responds to department requests.
- Paints and repairs equipment.
- Removes waste and trash from rooms and places in designated trash disposal area.
- Reports maintenance, cleaning, and/or safety issues to supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Two years of maintenance or housekeeping experience in a multi service building serving the public.
- Must have a valid Ohio Drivers’ License.
- Ability to operate equipment including but not limited to: snow blower, salt spreader, pool and carpet vacuum, golf carts, small snow removal tractor, ladders, vertical lifts, mops, and small hand tools.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to supervisor.
- Ability to work required overtime as needed and varying shifts when necessary.
- Must pass a post-offer/pre-employment fitness for duty physical examination.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to climb, bend, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and grasp on a regular basis.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to read and comprehend schematics, blue prints, etc.
