The Cook and Catering Assistant reports directly to the Food Service Director. This person is responsible for managing orders including prep, cooking and fulfillment of said orders. Assist with growing our catering business. This is a part time position at 25 hours / week and is classified as Non-Exempt with no benefits. The schedule will be Wednesday through Sunday. The Jewish Community Center is an EOE (equal opportunity employer).
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manages, plans and organizes catering orders
- Preps, cooks and assists in fulfilling orders
- Staffs catering events and catering pickup orders
- Requires working on Sunday’s and occasional evenings
- Assists with growing the catering business
- Adheres to standard operating procedures for food quality and food handling.
- Keeps Registered Food Manager’s certificate current.
- Performs other duties as assigned by chef or Food Service Director.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
It is expected that the Cook & Catering Assistant will be a team player as part of the JCC Professional Staff. He / she is expected to be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and work within the frameworks of that mission. Responsibilities of the job may be changed as the needs of the JCC and / or community change.
