The Early Childhood Office Manager supports staff and leadership, provides customer service and office administration. This role supports programs for parents, as well as members of the GECC

and Camp Programs (GECC/CP). This is a 40 hour per week, non-exempt, benefit level position. The Jewish Community Center is an equal opportunity employer (EOE).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support the department endeavors using excellent written and oral communication.
  • Multitask to organize incoming and outgoing announcements. Ability to understand the relationship of information and its effect throughout all processes and programs to be proactive and utilize appropriate levels of initiative.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliably utilize all features of the computer programs necessary to ensure complete school records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Access. Aptitude to learn and implement new programs as needed.
  • Skillful in math and intermediate accounting to process billing, payroll and calculating fees.
  • Capable of prioritization in a constantly changing environment without missing deadlines.
  • Maintenance of teacher files, accident logbook, printers/copiers and licensing book.
  • Flexibility with working schedule to participate in family programs, staff meetings, department and agency wide events.
  • Demonstrative good judgment and decision-making skills to be able to work independently.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Management of Early Childhood Administrative Assistant

EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school degree or equivalent required. College or vocational degree preferred.
  • Professional experience in a school environment preferred. Minimum of 5 years in an office/administrative capacity required.
  • Detail oriented and well organized, with ability to plan projects, activities and schedule several months in advance.
  • Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage warmly with children and families, build meaningful relationships, and effectively handle challenging or upset individuals with professionalism and empathy, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • This position requires independent judgment, initiative and advanced administrative skills.
  • Be available to use transportation for departmental needs, i.e., shopping.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. The individual in this role must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
