The Van Driver / Chaperone is responsible for the safe and timely transport and chaperoning of elementary students ages 5-12. This position is classified as Non-Exempt and does not offer a benefits package. The hours are from 12-4PM, or 2-6PM, Monday through Friday. The Jewish Community Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Help children in boarding and exiting vehicle.
- Follow scheduled routes, chartered routes and requests from management for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.
- Able to communicate consistently in a clear and courteous manner.
- Report accidents, safety situations, vehicle condition, or damage to the Youth and Teen Director.
- Able to problem solve and make sound decisions.
- Keep the bus clean and maintained.
- Obey all traffic laws and demonstrate careful and safe-driving procedures at all times.
- Save daily driving logs, including mileage, passengers and gas receipts.
- Pick up the van in the JCC parking lot for scheduled shifts. The keys remain at the JCC when the van is not in use.
REQUIREMENTS :
It is expected that the Van Driver / Chaperone will be a team player as part of the JCC Professional Staff. He / she is expected to be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and work within the frameworks of that mission. Responsibilities of the job may be changed as the needs of the JCC and / or community change.
