Description
The Coordinator, Marketing & Communications is responsible for developing and executing marketing and communications strategies across various channels. These include The J’s website, press releases, media communications, and both print and digital materials, with the goal of promoting The J’s brand, programming, and mission. Will assist in event promotion and providing basic graphic design assistance to The J’s marketing team.
Schedule
M-F, 8:30-5:00pm with periodic weekends and evenings required

- Design and produce marketing and communications materials, including writing content, developing media releases, and implementing marketing plans
- Edit design layouts, collateral materials, photos and images, and compile graphics and photos for production
- Support in the management of various J departments’ marketing relationships, including meeting regularly with department heads, coordinating marketing requests, and helping to develop annual marketing plans
- Assist with media relations duties, including accompanying individuals to interviews, and managing on-site media opportunities when needed
- Take photos and video of events and activities at The J
- Attend and support J-wide events
- Minimum 1-3 years marketing or communications experience
- Strong writing capabilities, familiarity with AP Style preferred
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Understanding of the principles of marketing/communications, as well as new technologies
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
- Experience with production of materials, including working with vendors, obtaining bids
- Ease in working with databases, on websites, and social media
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related fields preferred
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
- Detail-oriented
- Able to operate under pressure and meet, as well as, enforce deadlines
- Highly organized
- Demonstrates willingness to learn, initiative, creativity, and innovation
- Self-motivated, team player, ability to work with staff at all levels
- Able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Able to move about inside the building to perform normal duties, including ascending and descending stairs
- Able to carry items up to 25 pounds
