The J's Clubhouse has two great options for childcare while parents/guardians workout at the Fitness Center. The J is seeking an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for working with children and providing a safe and engaging environment for children ages 3 months - 11 years.
The Little Clubhouse offers drop-in childcare for younger children ages 3 months to 5 years, with engaging playtime and sensory opportunities where kids are encouraged to climb, crawl, and explore. The Big Clubhouse is a more active area for children ages 5 to 11 years. Here, we introduce them to exercise and active play. We have a two-story slide, rock climbing wall, and Ninja Warrior course! We also have quiet areas for video gaming, crafts, coloring, board games, or homework.
The Clubhouse Manager will oversee the Clubhouse Supervisor (full-time position), shift leads, and general staff attendants for the Clubhouse. This position is responsible for hiring, scheduling, and evaluating the quality of the childcare program. The Manager will also oversee programming ensuring a strong developmentally appropriate learning environment while following the policies and procedures of The J by observing work areas, suggesting techniques, and addressing member’s needs.
The position requires creativity in seeking new opportunities for revenue-producing programming, management of staff, administrative responsibilities for the department’s annual budget, and exceptional customer service skills. The Clubhouse Manager ensures his/her team meets and exceeds member expectations in customer satisfaction and overall J experience.

Essential Functions
- Ensure that the quality of the childcare program is second-to-none by engaging with members and their children, forming relationships, and evaluating the department on an ongoing basis.
- Hire and manage first-rate staff to provide our members with the childcare service they desire and to maintain growth and loyalty.
- Work closely with the Clubhouse Supervisor to ensure proper training procedures are established.
- Create a high level of customer service by responding in a timely manner to member feedback through verbal communication and emails.
- Ensure budgetary goals are monitored and achieved, monthly audit of current participants.
- Create and promote innovative new revenue-producing programs. Oversee current revenue-producing programs such as Safe Sitter and Safe at Home.
- Maintain safe, compliant, functional, and attractive childcare areas and equipment operation (Rockwall/belay, Ninja Warrior course, and other sensory activities) and coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
- Work with committees and staff to develop, implement and work existing programs and events as well as new ones that serve the needs for our members and community.
- Promote and educate J members about other programming offered at The J including swimming lessons, sports, dance, and more.

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Life, Social work or related field preferred, but not required.
- 2-5 years of supervisory/management experience across areas of focus preferred but not required.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certified
- Experience with hiring, managing, training, and scheduling employees
- Demonstrate ability to lead large teams, manage budgets, drive revenue, and boost customer satisfaction
- Ability to juggle many tasks and deadlines, prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans
- Ability to use technology to communicate with members, monitor enrollment/participant information
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally to form relationships with children and families
- Able to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues while maintaining accountability for results
- Able to work a variable schedule that may include evenings and weekends
- Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions children weighing up to 50 pounds
- Typically bends, stoops and crouches on a regular basis to assist children or while working with equipment and engaging in activities
