Our Security team embodies the core values of the JCCSF and is the first point of contact for our members, guests and staff. This is not your typical security job: Security Officers are responsible for all security staff posts, crisis response support, emergency evacuation, security monitoring, crowd management, and observation, but also experience a fun and friendly atmosphere and support from an extraordinary security team
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform security screenings at lobby and garage posts
- Perform security patrols
- Monitor security systems
- Serve as special event security for crowd control, screening and observation
- Perform opening and closing building and grounds security inspections
- Approach and question as necessary disruptive or threatening individuals and take necessary action to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Comply with all safety and security policies and procedures
- Provide support in the event of crisis, disaster, and emergency evacuations
- Participate in ongoing training related to security and safety procedures
- Possess the skills and abilities to provide basic first aid and CPR/AED as needed
- Demonstrate excellent customer service at all times.
- Perform other security related duties as directed or assigned by the Security Operations Manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of security practices
- Excellent observation skills
- First Aid and CPR/AED certification; and ability to provide basic first aid and CPR/AED as needed
- Ability to make good decisions under pressure
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and a good team player
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, and late evenings
- Basic, intermediate and advanced computer skills are a plus
- Basic knowledge of security operations or inventory management is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The ability to walk throughout the facility, including stairways, for up to 3 hours at a time.
- Ability to stand at security post for up to three hours
- Ability to move quickly in response to emergencies
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Capable of working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
WORKINGCONDITIONS
The Security Officer will be expected to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the day, providing coverage in various settings. Outdoor work may involve exposure to different weather conditions, including sunshine, rain, and varying temperatures, depending on the season. The position requires the ability to work in fluctuating environmental conditions, from hot, sunny days to colder, wetter weather.
Foot traffic can vary throughout the day, with periods of higher activity during peak hours and quieter times during off-peak periods. The officer will need to remain alert and attentive to any potential security concerns regardless of the level of foot traffic.
The position requires flexibility in handling daylight and nighttime shifts. Officers will be expected to adapt to changing visibility levels, particularly during night shifts when the officer will need to rely on flashlight equipment and surveillance technology to monitor the premises.
Overall, the working conditions require a resilient, adaptable individual who can remain vigilant in various environments and under different weather and lighting conditions.

40 hours per week. Schedule includes weekday and weekend shifts, early mornings, and late evenings.
