Summary
The Accounting Associate role is a valued position within the organization that will work cross-functionally to support accurate, timely results within the scope of general accounting. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all company financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Process payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments for all employees
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations regularly to maintain financial accuracy
- Handle accounts payable and receivable functions, maintaining smooth cash flow
- Prepare and enter journal entries supporting the month-end process for the organization
- Responsible for maintaining accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Assist with account analysis and budget planning to support strategic initiatives
- Maintain precise financial records using software tools, particularly MIP
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and updating processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy of reporting
- Assist with benefit administration
- Maintain record retention system
- Maintain personnel files
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of functions, processes, and reporting for the organization
- Collaborate closely with the CFO and other departments, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with company goals
- Demonstrates strong communication skills across various departments, ensuring clear and effective collaboration
- All other duties as assigned by leadership
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate's degree in accounting required
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
- Nonprofit experience preferred
Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and financial statement work
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and manage detailed financial records
- Strong competency in payroll processing
- Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with accounting and finance within an ERP environment is required
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
- Show courtesy, tact, empathy, cooperation, concern and politeness to others and relates well to different people
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.55 - $30.15 per hour
Expected hours: 37 – 40 per week
