What are the responsibilities and job description for the Companion position at Jewish Community Center?
Aleph Adult Day Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable Driver/Companion to provide transportation services for our clients. This part-time role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by offering companionship and support to individuals in a safe, engaging, and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary Driver: Safely transport clients to and from the Adult Day Center.
- Companionship & Support: Provide basic emotional and psychological support to clients, fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Engage Clients: Keep clients mentally engaged through conversation, games, and other activities.
- Client Interaction: Build a positive rapport with clients and their families, ensuring a comfortable experience.
- Safety: Assist in maintaining a safe and supportive physical environment for all clients.
- Training & Compliance: Complete required in-service training and health screenings within established deadlines.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow Aleph and Jewish Federation policies and procedures.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as directed by the manager in accordance with each client’s plan of care.
Qualifications:
- Reliable, responsible, and compassionate.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and staff.
- Comfortable providing basic companionship and emotional support.
- Must meet in-service training and health screening requirements.
- Experience in a caregiving or healthcare-related field is a plus.
