Position: Preschool Social Work/Care Manager (PART TIME)
This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of preschool children experiencing social-emotional challenges, developing individualized service plans, coordinating with families and other professionals, and advocating for the needs of young children to promote their development and wellbeing within a preschool setting, working part-time hours to manage a caseload of children requiring support.
Responsibilities:
- Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of preschool children to identify potential developmental delays, social-emotional difficulties, and family challenges impacting the child's learning and behavior.
- Service Plan Development: Create individualized service plans based on assessment findings, outlining specific goals, interventions, and strategies to address each child's unique needs.
- Family Engagement: Establish strong relationships with parents/guardians, provide education on child development, and actively involve them in the service plan implementation and progress monitoring.
- Intervention Delivery: Implement evidence-based interventions within the preschool setting, such as play therapy, behavior management techniques, and social skills development activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with preschool teachers, administrators, therapists, and other professionals to coordinate services and ensure a cohesive approach to supporting children.
- Advocacy: Advocate for children's needs to access necessary resources and support services, including community agencies or specialized programs.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed case records, progress notes, and reports documenting interventions, family interactions, and child development milestones.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, or related field
- Experience working with young children in a preschool setting preferred
- Knowledge of child development theories and best practices for addressing social-emotional challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues
- Ability to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress
- Familiarity with relevant child welfare laws, regulations, and community resources
Desired Skills:
- Experience in crisis intervention and managing challenging behaviors
- Ability to effectively facilitate group activities and provide individual support to children
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage a caseload effectively
- Bilingual skills may be beneficial depending on the community served
