JF&CS is now seeking a full-time Volunteer Engagement Coordinator.
PURPOSE:
The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the programmatic and administrative operations of the volunteer engagement function at JF&CS. The Coordinator will report to the Volunteer Engagement Manager in helping to manage agency volunteers and volunteer related events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Volunteers
- Help administer the agency’s volunteer program in alignment with the agency and Volunteer team’s strategic plans.
- Recruit, onboard, and screen new volunteers in accordance with program requirements and agency standards.
- Work with the Volunteer Engagement Manager and Program Managers to match volunteers with appropriate opportunities based on their skill sets and interests.
- Assess program needs on an ongoing basis and utilize recruitment strategies and timely communications to fulfill staff volunteer requests.
- Maintain the volunteer database, Golden, to ensure volunteer records are accurate and assess how we can utilize the platform to develop more efficient processes.
- Provide ongoing staff and volunteer training and reminders in Golden to increase usership.
- Collaborate with program staff to develop training and educational materials for volunteers and community stakeholders serving the agency.
- Develop positive relationships with volunteers that increase engagement, appreciation, and longevity.
- Use Mailchimp, JotForm, and Canva to develop volunteer emails, other communications, and registration forms in collaboration with Marketing.
- Provide programmatic & logistical support for volunteer activities and events including family, young professional, Kay Family Leadership Series, holiday financial assistance, and other volunteer initiatives.
- Collaboratively plan Volunteer Appreciation Month activities and identify recognition strategies with the Volunteer Engagement Manager.
- Attend and take minutes for various Volunteer Engagement or committee meetings.
- Collect and track monthly volunteer engagement data for reporting purposes.
- Assist with the Volunteer Engagement team’s monthly expense reports by organizing and uploading receipts in a timely manner.
Events
- Support Agency Events by coordinating needed volunteers and providing logistical assistance as required.
- Help plan and implement volunteer engagement events or initiatives, including Family Volunteer Days,
- Hunger Walk, Mitzvah Day, Recognition Days, etc.
- Attend volunteer & agency events as required, including evenings and/or weekends.
Special Projects
- Assist with the annual Holiday Gift Program for families.
- Oversee the annual MVR checks.
- Assist with additional projects as assigned.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn the volunteer database

- Must have the ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
- Office environment as well as direct volunteer interfacing in the larger Atlanta community.
- The workload is fast paced with timeliness, a concern for internal and external customers.
- Hybrid work schedule with at least 3 days per week in office; up to 2 days remote.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years previous experience in non-profit environment with volunteer, fundraising and/or special events
Candidates who are selected for employment must successfully complete a pre-employment background screening as well as a pre-employment drug screening. Employment will be contingent upon the satisfactory completion of both the background check and the drug screening. Additionally, if applicable, tuberculosis testing (TB) and fingerprinting may also be required.
