Responsibilities
- Responds to client concerns about their medications; research problems that arise, interact with pharmacies, funding sources, and other stakeholders to resolve problems.
- Assists the Nurse in obtaining vitals, blood pressure, blood draws, labs, and perform other related primary care duties as needed:
- Provides vaccinations to clients and document patient-care information related to vitals, blood pressure, pulse, height/weight, blood draw, and other lab results.
- Performs routine clerical and administrative tasks necessary to resolve behavioral health and primary care issues, and documents activities.
- Engages in patient education and support activities.
- Performs frequent inquiry about the client’s health and wellness needs and assists in coordinating those primary care or other supportive services with appropriate JFCS staff or external parties to ensure the client’s whole health is addressed.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification required
- Experience with labs, drawing blood, performing vaccinations and rendering compassionate patient care.
- Ability to acquire a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Verifiable HS Diploma or GED
- Good interpersonal skills and communications skills
