Salary Range : $57,000-$63,000
Position Summary
Jewish Family & Children's Service (JF&CS) is home to Schechter Holocaust Services (SHS), Greater Boston's only program advocating for Holocaust survivors to age with dignity while maintaining meaningful connections with one another and the Jewish community. A majority of survivors served by JF&CS are Russian speaking.
JF&CS is seeking an organized and compassionate bilingual Russian-English Case Manager to work directly with survivors and their families. The Case Manager will assist clients in obtaining vital services such as homecare and financial assistance. They will participate, as appropriate, in social programming activities. This role includes administrative responsibilities such as record keeping and documentation for grant funding.
The Case Manager will work effectively as part of the Holocaust Services team. This role is hybrid, with at least two days per week in the Waltham office or in the community. The Case Manager reports to the SHS Program Director.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Assess the physical and mental health, support systems and financial situation of clients
- Access government programs and benefits, where possible, to help ensure clients receive services for which they are eligible
- Provide program information and referrals within and outside of JF&CS
- Assess clients’ need for homecare
- Interface with homecare and other aging service providers
- Collaborate with Holocaust survivors and family members to ensure a client-centered, trauma -informed approach
- Maintain data and documentation to ensure JF&CS compliance with Claims Conference regulations and procedures
- Participate in SHS staff meetings and JF&CS trainings and represent the organization at external events
- Assist at social group events, as needed
- Take on additional duties and projects as assigned, embracing a dynamic and fulfilling work environment.
