As a Food Pantry Coordination Associate you will work in a leadership capacity with JFS volunteers providing guidance and support to accomplish the day to day operations of the food pantry. Your job requires strong relationships across the organization to flexibly meet the needs of pantry operations, possessing the ability to work effectively with volunteers and the wider community. This is a mission driven position addressing community food insecurity.
Position Specific:
- Coordinate food pantry operations
- Perform scheduling/assignments for JFS Volunteers, and Workforce 55 candidates to complete for the day
- Complete required monthly reporting
- Ordering food supplies
- Coordinate Food Pantry delivery
- Manage pantry delivery service with volunteers and participants.
- Conduct community outreach and manage partner relationships
- Attends scheduled supervision sessions, in service training workshops and staff meetings according to agency and program schedules.
Program Specific
- Provide support to volunteer recruitment and retention efforts.
- Promote goals and activities of the Volunteer Services Program
- Support agency goals to reduce food insecurity in the community.
Education/Experience
- Bachelors degree in human services field
- Must have demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; ability to maintain spreadsheet/database.
- One year experience with non-profit, community volunteer highly desired
- One year experience/familiarity with inventory practices
Schedule: Mon – Friday up to 24 hrs./week. Tuesday required daytime schedule, flexibility to work nights or weekends if needed.
