Position Summary
We are seeking a Food Pantry Associate to assist with the daily operations of our food pantry and mobile distribution events. This role involves direct client service, inventory management, and community outreach to support food security initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients at the Margate pantry, distributing food, diapers, and essential supplies
- Support mobile food distributions to ensure smooth and organized operations
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, donations, and distributions
- Oversee pantry stocking, organization, and cleanliness
- Ensure proper storage and handling of produce, meats, and dairy
- Prepare food bags for JFS locations, volunteers, and mobile distributions
- Engage in community outreach and build partnerships to strengthen food security programs
- Attend team meetings, training, and professional development sessions
- Drive the mobile pantry truck and agency vehicles as needed
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: Prior work in human services, food distribution, or inventory management preferred
- Ability to lift and transport food supplies (up to 50lbs)
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and engaging with diverse populations
- Valid driver’s license required (ability to drive agency vehicles)
