The Director of WHCSC is responsible for overall supervision of and daily operations for the multipurpose community-based center. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality case management and coordination to an older adult and disabled populations. The Senior Center Director will represent the agency in the community, with funding sources and to the public.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related social service field
- Licensed in the State of California by the of Board of Behavioral Sciences or the Board of Psychology
- Current unrestricted CA Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
- 5 years of successful clinical, case management, supervisory, and administrative experience in the field of aging services
- Strong interest and experience in providing caring community center environment for older adults
- Care management and community-based service delivery experience required
- Knowledge of community resources related to aging and mental and physical disabilities
- Ability and interest in working with a multicultural staff and client population
- Knowledge of and ability to train staff regarding safety issues when working with at-risk older adults and disabled clients
- Strong computer literacy including all MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) and electronic health records platforms
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills and ability to articulate and professionally communicate with staff and other stakeholders including funding entities.
- Ability to represent the agency professionally in the community, with funding sources, and to the general public
- Solid case management training skills and ability to impart information to staff both in one-on-one and group settings
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities and complete projects within specified timeframes
- Strong, creative, flexible, coaching and training style of leadership and ability to provide staff with professional growth opportunities.
- Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple priorities and meet required deadlines
- Management skills necessary to attract and maintain a highly effective and motivated staff
- Skills to provide strong team leadership, team building, mentorship, training
- Must be able to pass criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide leadership and administrative management for all Center operations and activities, including city contract regulations and compliance, budget oversight, planning and implementation. Oversight and monitoring of quality assurance related to intake, case management, in-home visits, arts, wellness and activity services, community outreach, volunteer and staff oversight.
- Provide direct weekly individual supervision and weekly staff meetings with Comprehensive Center staff.
- Facilitate monthly group supervision with staff for case conference reviews, and professional growth and learning opportunities
- Responsible for training and supervision of case aide volunteers
- Provide liaison activities with other senior service-based programs and outside community resources
- Responsible for staffing of Lay Advisory Community based Committees
- Provide liaison communication with City of West Hollywood monitors, and other funding sources.
- Complete and coordinate submission of grant and city/county reports
- Responsible for Quality Assurance and Improvement of all center activities and case management services
- Participation in community-based coalitions, collaborations and organization partnerships for senior services as assigned
- Strong collaboration and cooperation with all agency programs working directly with or in coordination with Comprehensive Center and/or on behalf of clients at the center.
- Lead subject matter expert related to oversight and training staff on agency electronic health record including data entered into all modules. Provide consistent weekly review of exception and other relevant reports with regard to call center, intake and referral, and case management modules.
- Other duties, as required.
