Jewish Family Services (JFS) is offering a full-time opportunity for a Masters level, licensed mental health professional who has experience in treating survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. This mental health professional will provide critical mental health services to adult survivors, through a unique partnership with Sojourner Family Peace Center and Jewish Family Services. This position will be responsible for providing comprehensive social services and activities that support and enhance the mental and emotional health of clients, prospective clients, and members of the community. This position reports to the Clinical Supervisor of Trauma Services.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provides trauma based counseling and psychotherapy services to adults and potentially teens or children, with past and
  • active violent situations.
  • Provide advocacy and referral services for clients as needed particularly with crime victim resources and court services
  • Provides in person services at JFS and satellite offices including the Sojourner Family Peace Center.
  • Records and maintains essential client records and statistical data in compliance with agency and State regulations and
  • within required time frame.
  • Collaborates and confers with agency personnel, volunteers, and professionals of other agencies.
  • Participates actively in clinical supervision and group clinical consultation.
  • Ability to work independently, including at off site location(s), organize workload and maintain required level of productivity as
  • determined by supervisor.
  • Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
  • Takes on-call rotation for one week at a time throughout the year.
  • Participates in professional growth and in-service opportunities; attends seminars that expand professional knowledge; and
  • shares information with colleagues.
  • Markets self and represents JFS in the Jewish community and community at large.
  • Responsible for maintaining active licensure in good standing pursuant to Wisconsin Administrative Code and WI Chapter DHS 35.
  • This includes ensuring against any lapse in licensure, timely completion of necessary continuing education hours as required by
  • the licensee’s examining board, and ongoing compliance with Wisconsin caregiver background checks and misconduct reporting
  • requirements.

General :

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle, and automobile insurance coverage throughout employment.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and / or willingness to learn Jewish culture and traditions and those of the Agency population as necessary.
  • Accept other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support client services and department partnerships.
  • Candidates must successfully pass a criminal background check (Fingerprint ID check for VOCA clinicians) with the Wisconsin Department of Justice and a caregiver background check with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the Department of Children and Families and the Department Safety and Professional Services.
  • Candidates must pass a Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender and Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry screening.
  • Requirements :

  • Master’s degree from an accredited school or social work, psychology, educational psychology or equivalent.
  • Holds a valid Wisconsin license from the Wisconsin Social Work Examining Board, Wisconsin Marriage and Family Therapy,
  • or Professional Counseling (LCSW, LMFT, LPC).
  • Candidate is further required to have at least 2 years of experience working with survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence
  • Have training in Trauma- Informed Care .
  • Have training in trauma centered treatment modalities with an understanding of a verity of theoretical approaches,
  • psychodynamics, group process and client advocacy.
  • Possess knowledge of DSM V diagnostic criteria for trauma related disorders.
  • Be third-party billing eligible.
  • Be able to independently manage personal caseload.
  • Have evening availability.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle with insurance.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and willingness to learn Jewish culture and traditions as necessary.
