Summer Camp Inclusion Aide

Overview
Camp Shalom (K-5th) and Camp Shalom Noar-Bogrim (6th-9th) are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to be Inclusion Aides. There is an internship possibility for this position as well, to be determined case-by-case. This position offers the unique opportunity to work 1:1 with campers who need additional support to fully participate in the camp experience, and assist to foster a fun, inclusive and positive environment for all.

Duties

• Inclusion Aides work closely with campers who may have developmental delays, be neurodiverse, have intellectual or physical disabilities, and/or experience social or emotional challenges. Inclusion Aides support campers by helping them engage in camp activities through differentiation, encouraging social interaction, following behavior management plans, and providing support to meet the individual needs of each child. The role requires patience, adaptability, and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all campers, as well as pre-season and summer-season collaboration with the child’s caregiving team.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old and a high school graduate.
• Must complete a camp provided respite care provider training or have equivalent training.
• Must complete a camp provided CPR training or already be certified.
• Experience in camp settings, daycare, or early childhood education is preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire children.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
