Athletic Director

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

The Athletic Director is responsible for the vision to develop, facilitate, supervise and promote all the athletic programs, pickleball and athletic fields.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree and or equivalent experience

· Experience in athletic instruction for various age groups

o Ages may include preschool, K-6, teens, adults

· Effective organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

· Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Program Development

· Oversee athletic facilities which include a divided gym, indoor pickleball courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, racquetball courts, outdoor soccer field, baseball diamond, sand volleyball, outdoor turf and other sports areas.

· In addition to the established JCC basketball league and pickleball leagues, create additional programming which may include lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, t-ball, softball, flag football, golf conditioning, tumbling, cheerleading, etc.

· Manage all related equipment for the above sports including the secure storage room.

· Develop and evaluate sports programming for youth and adults.

· Develop, evaluate and supervise summer camp programming for youth sports K-8.

· Develop, evaluate and supervise the JCC summer, fall and winter basketball program.

· Develop lesson plans and curriculum for early childhood physical education classes and instructed by JCC sports staff.

· Develop, evaluate and supervise sports programming for our home school membership.

· Develop, evaluate and supervise sports programming for our Pickleball Program

Develop, evaluate and supervise sports programming for our soccer.

1. Supervision

· Supervise the full-time Basketball Coordinator, Pickleball Coordinator, Camp Staff, Basketball Coaches and programming support staff.

· Recruit, hire and supervise other full-time and part-time staff for classes and programs within the Athletic department.

· Coordinate the staff coverage of the gymnasium ensuring the safety of our members.

· Conduct performance reviews and process employee payroll paperwork.

2. Administration

· Create a vision and set goals for athletic programming with the JCC Executive Director.

· Prepare and monitor the Athletic budget.

· Purchase supplies and equipment for programming.

· Overall responsibility for JCC sports coverage as needed.

3. Sales and Promotion

· Publicize classes, programs and events.

· Submit appropriate information for Centerpiece, Jewish Press and JCC website.

4. Other duties as assigned

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
