Job Summary :
Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal,state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our establishedpolicies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Executive Chef to assurethat quality food service is provided at all times. Responsible for hot food preparation,including accompaniment and garnishes. PART-TIME
Responsibilities :
- Comprehensiveknowledge of food preparation and handling technique.
- Generalknowledge of safety and sanitation rules and practices.
- Abilityto work well independently given proper direction.
- Haslatitude to cope with some problems.
- Conferswith Executive Chef / Supervisor on unusual problems.
- Responsiblefor hot food preparation, including accompaniments and garnishes.
- Prepares hot entrees, soups andvegetables following preparation sheets and provided recipes for dining roomservice, healthcare center, cafeteria and special functions.
- Doesadvance preparation as indicated.
- Serves eye-appealing, tasty fooditems following recipes provided for preparation and plate service of food.
- Completesfood temperature checks each meal. Tastes all food items prepared.
- Completespreparation records and stores food items properly at close of meal service.
- Cleanswork area and equipment used in food preparation, signing daily sanitation log.
- Musttake necessary precautions and follow correct procedures for lifting andbending.
- Followssafety and sanitation rules and practices.
- Ensures that all hot foodpreparation and assembling is done in accordance with established procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of firesafety procedures and assists with evacuation of residents to a safe locationin the event of fire or other emergency.
- Maintainssecurity of all JHR property
Experience :
1-2 years prior cooking experience required.
