What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Assistant position at Jewish Senior Life?
Pay Rate : $16.71
Per Diem- Minimum Commitment of 2 weekend shifts per month, and 2 Holidays per year
GENERAL SCOPE : Provides direct care to residents under the supervision of the RN Nurse Manager.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION : High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a NYS Home Health Aide or Personal Care Aide required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Provide direct care and support for the grooming of the resident according to the resident's care plan. Grooming includes :
- Bathing.
- Shampooing hair.
- Eyes and glasses care.
- Oversee resident as needed to manage good oral hygiene.
- Shaving.
- Ear care and / or hearing aid care.
- Nail care (filing as requested by resident family).
- Morning, evening and night care.
- Provide for the maintenance and rehabilitative needs of the residents according to the resident's
care plan. Maintenance rehabilitative needs include :
EXPERIENCE : Previous experience as a home health aide or working with the elderly is desirable.
