What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Assistant position at Jewish Service for the Developmentally Disabled?
JSDD: Life | Home | Tech (LHT) is at the forefront of using technology solutions to support greater independence for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism, and older adults who are aging in place. The Program Assistant will play a key role in showcasing LHT throughout the wider community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about enhancing the quality of life for adults who need support. They will also be patient, organized and enthusiastic about making technology accessible to all.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Excellent communication skills in group and one-on-one settings
· Open to learning new information and then sharing/teaching it to others
· Demonstrated knowledge of technology devices (i.e., Amazon Echo devices, smart home technology, basic household devices), including installation and education
· Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and/or older adults a plus
· Strong attention to detail and follow-up, the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaboratively, flexible with change, clearly report on the progress of deliverables
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide education sessions, discussions and demo tours
· Conduct individual technology assessments for adults with IDD, autism, older adults and/or caregivers, including writing follow-up documentation and recommendations
· Install enabling technology for adults with IDD, autism and older adults, as appropriate
. Participate in technology literacy topics and curriculum development, as appropriate
· Investigate new types of technology and the various ways it will support the communities we serve
· Provide support for Information Sessions and community outreach events
· Other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager
Schedule: This is a part-time (30 hours weekly), one-year grant-funded position, and is subject to renewal. Potential to expand hours or go full-time in the future, based on grant-funding.
· Hours are flexible, with most occurring during M-F business hours. Occasional Evening or Weekend availability for special events
Location: Hybrid Position, local travel around Essex and Morris Counties, as well as attendance at meetings, events and related programs at JSDD main office in Livingston, NJ.

Pay: $38,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 30 per week
