JSSA is is looking for a full time Child Development Assistant to support our multigenerational family support program at the Family Discovery Center (FDC). This position will provide direct care and promote the health, safety, and well-being of children 0-4 years old to prepare for success in school.Responsibilities : Assists in providing care and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in the FDC.Assists with implementation of a developmentally appropriate program for infants and toddlers.Plans age-appropriate activities and facilitates child and parent interaction.Provides informal parenting education to participants to support their parenting role.Attends staff meetings and regular professional trainings to enhance skills and professional development.Ensures that child observations are appropriately documented.Qualifications : High school diploma with 90-hour Childcare Certificate or Infant-Toddler CDA required.Associate degree in early childhood education or related field highly preferred.Must have a minimum of one year of supervised classroom experience working with young children from birth to age three, and demonstrate knowledge of good teaching practices and child development.Must demonstrate a commitment and ability to serve a diverse community including low income, English language learners, and children with special needs or challenging behaviors.Must have the ability to get up and down off the floor and lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 8 : 30am-5pm and flex for some evening hours to accommodate programming schedule.Bilingual English / Spanish is preferred.Benefits : Annualized salary : $41,600Medical / Prescription / Dental / Vision coverage403b Retirement PlanPaid Leave (sick / vacation / personal / holidays)Supportive work environmentAnd much more...#GC Learn More
