What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Driver position at Jf Construction, Inc.?
Running a steel lead on construction sites, sewer and water jobs, in and out of stone and sand pits.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including heavy equipment, flatbed trucks, tankers, dump trucks, forklifts, etc.
- Transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Follow assigned routes and schedules
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
- Ensure that cargo is properly secured during transportation
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods when necessary
Skills:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in driving various types of vehicles (e.g., flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks)
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts)
- Strong knowledge of route planning and navigation
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
