Our Collections Specialists are key to the overall success of JF Petroleum Group. This role will work closely with external and internal customers to meet department and overall business goals. The Collections Specialist will take ownership of their assigned portfolio and drive process improvements to lower and maintain receivables at an acceptable level.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of assigned portfolio to reduce outstanding receivables
- Contact customers for payment via phone, email, fax and regular mail
- Provide service support to internal customers including dispatch, billing, and sales
- Review credit for new customers and assign appropriate credit limits
- Monitor credit on an ongoing basis to assure continued credit worthiness
- Develop relationships with assigned accounts to ensure timely collection of receivables
- Provide research and dispute resolution and resolve customer complaints
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures
- Complete special assignments as requested by external and internal customers
- Process credit cards and handle pre-authorizations for customers
- Set up new customers and update existing customer files as needed
- Other Credit and Collection duties as assigned
Requirements
Requirements:
- 5 years of collections experience required
- 3 years of Business to Business collections experience is required
- High School diploma required
- 3rd party billing experience preferred
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Goal oriented, self-motivated, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to achieve goals and drive initiatives with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn multiple computer systems and multi-task
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Microsoft Dynamics SL (Navision) experience a plus
- Position will have some clean-up work and back-log, so this person must have patience and a people friendly personality.
- Authorized to work in the US
- Must be able to meet company’s employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR, if driving for the company
- Physical Requirements: include occasional lifting/carrying of 10 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
