Position Overview

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing daily business operations, strategic initiatives, and organizational performance. The COO collaborates with the CEO and leadership team to enhance service delivery while improving outcomes, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and driving efficiencies that align with Maryville's mission and long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Business Operations Leadership

  • Execute strategic initiatives that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and organizational sustainability.
  • Oversee business operations across multiple service lines, ensuring effective resource allocation and workflow optimization.
  • Foster collaboration between clinical, administrative, and operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and act as a liaison with external stakeholders, including funders, government agencies, and healthcare partners.

Operational & Fiscal Responsibility

  • Ensure organizational compliance with regulatory agencies, including CMS, HRSA, HIPAA, OSHA, and state-specific requirements.
  • Drive operational efficiencies to maximize service capacity while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Work with the leadership team to align business processes, contracts, and payer relationships to support long-term financial sustainability.
  • Support revenue cycle processes by ensuring accurate documentation, billing workflows, and reimbursement strategies.
  • Oversee facilities, IT, and other operational departments to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning and future scalability.
  • Quality & Service Excellence

  • Lead process improvements that enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Ensure operational policies and procedures align with industry best practices and accreditation standards.
  • Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to drive informed decision-making and performance improvements.
  • Community & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent Maryville Integrated Care in partnerships, advocacy efforts, and industry collaborations.
  • Develop relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and policymakers to strengthen Maryville's impact.
  • Identify opportunities for business development and strategic growth that align with Maryville's mission.
  • Qualifications & Skills

  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of leadership experience in healthcare or behavioral health operations.
  • Proven ability to lead business operations, optimize workflows, and drive organizational efficiencies.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience managing multi-site operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication abilities.
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) and operational data analytics.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and payer systems.
