The Regional Cardiovascular Care Transformation (CV CTS) Director has direct accountability for delivery of clinical cardiovascular services at Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC) the tertiary hub and Community Hospitals: Ocean Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center. The CV CTS Regional Director provides oversight and coordination of Cardiovascular and business priorities within the Southern region in collaboration with the local administrations. Jersey Shore University Medical Center has on-site cardiac surgical services, which includes the programs of Structural Heart (TAVR and Mitraclip), Advanced Heart Failure (VAD Destination Therapy) as well as the full scope of both Cardiac and Peripheral Diagnostic, and Interventional services in addition to Electrophysiology. Reporting to the Vice President Cardiovascular CTS (CTS VP), this position supports the administration, day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and program development of inpatient and outpatient Cardiovascular (CV) services across the assigned region. Provides direct oversight for the CV CTS - specific programs and /or departments, as determined by the CTS VP and CHE, through the establishment and monitoring of operating budgets, and overall CV campus operations in collaboration with the CV site manager(s) responsible and local administrative leadership. In partnership with the Director of Network Operations and CTS Medical Leadership, assists in facilitation and organization of performance improvement initiatives and accreditation(s)/certifications in collaboration with the Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Clinicians. Utilizes national benchmark, local and industry information to assist in the identification of opportunities. This position supports the CTS VP, for the development and implementation of CTS strategic plans along with associated strategic goals, initiatives, market share, growth opportunities, budget monitoring, and other quality and key indicators of performance.

Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Regional Cardiovascular Care Transformation (CV CTS) Director at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Supports the administration, day-to-day operations, and program development of inpatient and outpatient Cardiovascular (CV) services across the assigned departments/units within the region.
- Supports/assists the CTS VP in the development, implementation and monitoring of strategic and capital plans for CV CTS. Under the guidance of the CTS VP develops business plans to support projects, new business growth opportunities or programmatic changes, which incorporates competitive analysis, market trends, reimbursement/revenue evaluation consistent with Hackensack Meridian Health's strategic goals. Supports the implementation of approved facility plans as outlined in the strategic plan and provides leadership through implementation.
- Executes the CV CTS strategic plan across the region including planning and directing daily operating activities. Responsible for oversight of the site/campus specific cardiovascular leaders across the region.
- Integrates CV CTS programs and services throughout the region to leverage business, lower costs and operational support to facilitate achievement of the cardiovascular strategic plan. Integral member of the CV CTS Network Leadership Team responsible for executing and harmonizing best practices, pathways, protocols, equipment procurement, policies, and practices in addition to identifying technology, innovation and growth opportunities.
- Ensures communication and collaboration between Chief Hospital Executives and site/campus CV leaders are successfully integrated with CV CTS strategic initiatives and campus specific operations. Ensures timely communication of issues of importance. Works with local and network leadership, the CV CTS Steering Committee and multiple clinical teams to continually improve operational standards, program development, operating budgets, patient and team member satisfaction, compliance and services. Supports the Advanced Practice Clinician(s) across the Network CV CTS in the implementation of evidence-based protocols through coordination with CTS team leads, physicians, nursing, allied health professionals and other related team members.
- Monitors and improves metrics and outcome measures to achieve best operational practices through the region. Supports achievement of US News and World Report rankings, CMS Star Ratings, Healthgrades and national quality, safety and experience metrics.
- Assists in the development of budgets, monitors relevant key financial indicators and performance metrics as it relates to changing financial situations. Develops, recommends and implements actions or process improvements.
- Utilizes aggregate data to analyze and benchmark regional performance against CV CTS network, state and national programs. Formulates reports in a clear and concise manner. Supports the CTS VP in the development, facilitation and leadership of improvement activities to remove identified barriers for physician referrals, efficiency, productivity, revenue enhancement, and cost containment.
- Assures compliance with all applicable governing and regulatory bodies and laws, including NJ Department of Health (DOH), Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, Corporate Compliance, in addition to Cardiovascular specific entities. Maintains knowledge of guidelines, current regulations and laws particularly impacting the Cardiovascular CTS. Conducts periodic practice audits to ensure compliance. Conducts education sessions with staff to ensure that their knowledge is current and activities compliant. Supports all Accreditation /Certification Initiatives across all campuses. For example: American College of Cardiology (ACC), Inter-societal Accreditation Commission (IAC), American Heart Association (AHA), Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).
- Fosters a culture of collaboration and teamwork, with a dedication to patient care and quality outcomes. Ensures a high level of staff engagement to ensure that the CV CTS Team operates in a Best Place to Work environment
- Participates in team member, leader and physician recruitment.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree in health related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare operations and service line management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive budget experience.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, internally and externally.
- Exceptional communication skills and experience with engaging and building relationships with network leadership.
- Understanding of the business implications of moving from volume to value-based payment for care.
- Knowledge of health care and business metrics, benchmarks, economic engines and standards that drive and/or shape the industry.
- Ability to establish and measure various metrics to assess success of the service line.
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative, workable strategies and tactics to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Strong leadership presence, relationship building skills and ability to influence, lead and direct individuals in multiple functional areas and across all levels of employees, management and community leaders.
- Knowledge of care transformation principles.
- Demonstrated analytical ability to identify problems, develop solutions and execute in collaboration with other leaders or constituents.
- Ability to develop a high performing team and steering committee, articulate vision, create trust, drive the HMH culture and build consensus.
- Strong business acumen focusing on results.
- A market shaper and innovator within the HMH culture.
- Degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN/DNP)
- Master's degree in business/operations or related field (MBA/MHA) or a commitment to complete within 3 years.
- Multi-site/systems experience preferred.
- Encompass reimbursement methodology and strategies as well as evaluation of business plans and execution.
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
