What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recycled Aggregate Sales Team Member and Scale Operator position at JGB Recycled Aggregate Materials?
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Team member and Scale Operator to join our team at our recycled aggregate materials plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction and sales, with the ability to manage material transactions, communicate with clients, and ensure the smooth operation of the scale system. The Scale Operator will play a key role in overseeing truck weighing, recording data accurately, and assisting in sales processes, ensuring timely delivery and quality service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scale Operations:
- Operate and maintain the plant's scale system for incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accurate weights are recorded for all transactions.
- Verify material loads, ensuring the correct type and quantity of recycled aggregate is recorded for billing and inventory purposes.
- Perform regular maintenance checks and troubleshooting of scale equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly.
- Communicate effectively with truck drivers and plant staff to coordinate the smooth flow of material shipments.
- Customer Interaction & Sales Support:
- Assist in sales-related activities by providing timely, knowledgeable and accurate information to customers about material availability, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Work closely with the customer to support inquiries and ensure that orders are fulfilled according to customer specifications. Assist customers in making informed decisions about products.
- Identify potential opportunities for up-selling or expanding customer orders, based on plant capabilities and material availability.
- Recordkeeping & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions, including weights, customer orders, material types, and any discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit daily reports on material deliveries, sales, and inventory for review by management.
- Ensure compliance with all local and state regulations regarding waste materials and recycled aggregates.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations related to plant operations.
- Report any safety hazards or violations immediately to the Plant Manager.
- Ensure all operations are carried out in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Inventory & Quality Control:
- Monitor inventory levels of recycled aggregate materials and assist in scheduling production as needed.
- Ensure that all materials leaving the plant meet the company’s quality standards and specifications.
- Report any discrepancies in material quality or quantity to the Plant Manager or Quality Control team.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in civil construction or operations within the aggregate, recycling, or related industries.
- At least 3 years of experience in sales or customer service, in the construction materials or aggregate industry.
- Proven ability to operate and troubleshoot scale systems or similar equipment.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in basic computer software (Microsoft Office Suite, data entry systems) for recordkeeping and report generation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs as needed and stand or walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with recycled aggregate or waste management materials.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software for inventory management or sales tracking.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainable construction practices.
