We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cable Technician Operations Supervisor to lead and manage a team of cable technicians in delivering top-quality installation, maintenance, and repair services. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive operational efficiency, ensure safety compliance, and maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of cable technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to foster growth and excellence.
- Plan and coordinate daily technician schedules, routes, and workloads to ensure efficient service delivery and minimal downtime.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex technical issues, guiding technicians through troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Conduct site audits, inspect completed work, and implement quality control measures to ensure all installations and repairs meet industry and company standards.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including completion rates, first-time fixes, and customer satisfaction, and implement strategies for improvement.
- Act as a liaison between customers and technicians to address concerns, manage expectations, and deliver exceptional service.
- Oversee inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring availability for all jobs while managing costs effectively.
- Identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, specifically managing cable technicians or in a related telecommunications field.
- Strong technical knowledge of cable installation, maintenance, and repair processes, including familiarity with tools, equipment, and industry best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both team members and customers.
- Knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and compliance requirements in the cable or telecommunications industry.
- Proficiency in scheduling and reporting tools, as well as experience with data analysis to drive performance improvements.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications or a degree in telecommunications or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in cable installation, maintenance, or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
