A family-owned Chevrolet dealership in Northern Virginia operating for over 68 years seeks a full-time professional with a positive attitude and excellent customer service for an Automotive Lot Porter to join our team! Lot Porters are responsible for the care and organization of vehicles on the dealership lot. This role ensures that vehicles are clean, adequately parked, and ready for customer test drives or service appointments. The lot porter assists with vehicle movement, minor maintenance, and general dealership upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Park and arrange vehicles on the lot according to dealership standards.
- Ensure the lot is clean, organized, and free of debris.
- Move vehicles between service, sales, and customer areas as needed.
- Wash, vacuum, and detail vehicles to maintain a professional appearance.
- Ensure all vehicles are fueled and ready for test drives or delivery.
- Assist customers by retrieving cars for test drives or service pick-ups.
- Provide friendly and professional interaction with customers and staff.
- Transport vehicles to and from the service department.
- Assist technicians and service advisors with vehicle placement.
- Maintain cleanliness in customer areas, parking lots, and dealership premises.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as tire pressure checks or battery jumps.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles (preferred).
- Punctual nature and ability to handle schedule flexibility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and various weather conditions.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Experience with the automotive industry is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual is a plus but is not required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Frequently standing, walking, and bending.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs., occasionally.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
