Paralegal Job Description:
Small litigation firm seeks an experienced paralegal to Full-time in our Augusta office. Our firm handles all types of matters, including family, personal injury, real estate, probate, and criminal. We are looking for a Paralegal primarily for family law.
Responsibilities include:
- Producing documentation, drafting and tracking motions, managing casework deadlines, maintaining records in a case management system, researching legal issues, working with attorneys to produce high-quality legal work, and supporting attorneys at trial.
- Client management.
- Drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits.
- Conducting legal research within Maine Statutes/Rules and LexisNexis.
Qualifications:
- Strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting.
- Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills.
- Comfortable multi-tasking with a high volume of client work.
- Self-motivated, organized, diligent and able to work independently.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader / Writer; with ability to edit Adobe PDF files.
Compensation:
$50,000 based on experience
