The responsibilities of an Automotive Collision Body Technician include repairing the vehicle body, from hammering out minor dents to windshield replacement and complete rebuilds. When not repairing collision damage, technicians work on body customization or minor repairs, such as buffing out scratches or refurbishing corrosion damage.

Responsibilities
Determine and repair damaged parts
Document all repairs performed and recommended on the repair order, with proper flag sheets, and technician notes
Communicate status of repairs clearly to body shop manager
Communicate with parts department to obtain necessary parts
Document all materials used
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
Follow all company safety procedures
Follow federal, state, and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous waste
Qualifications
Previous automotive experience
Time management skills for performing multiple duties in a fast-paced environment
Completion Of Vocational Program Preferred, But Not Required
Strong communication and organizational skills
Clean driving record & valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of the position are MEDIUM to HEAVY in intensity.
Must be able to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time.
Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable necessary to drive vehicles safely.
Constant - Reaching, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.
Frequent - Repetitive motion.
Occasional - Balancing, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to :100 lbs.
Physical Working Conditions
This position is subject to inside and outside environmental working conditions including but not limited to temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards as electrical, mechanical, and cleaning equipment, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with operation an auto dealership.
