Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and pallet jacks, to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring accuracy in shipping and receiving processes.
- Move materials to designated areas within the warehouse using appropriate equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through a warehouse management system.
- Assist in organizing and managing warehouse space for optimal efficiency.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure safe operation.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to meet daily operational goals.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the job.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in shipping and receiving operations is preferred.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a plus.
