SUMMARY:
The counselor works individually and in groups with clients to provide thoughtful, Christ-centered, clinically-structured recovery for addiction. The Counselor works to ensure clients are transferred from a state of dependency to one of self-sufficiency.
DUTIES:
· Maintains an active file on program clients to ensure participation, compliance and reasonable progress
· Conducts individual counseling sessions with evaluations, individualized recovery and life plans, and progress notes
· Responsible for case management including medical, family and legal issues of the client
· Teaches daily lesson plans from approved program material
· Facilitates the applications of clients seeking to advance from one phase of the program to another in coordination with the Director of Programs
· Assists with disciplinary corrections of clients
· Participates in leading graduation services
· May provide staff coverage for short-term, unplanned absence of another teacher or staff member
· May be responsible for attending assigned chapel services and conducting chapel services in the absence of guest church groups
· Responsible for dining hall supervision during lunch and dinner
· Performs other administrative duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Social or Behavioral Science required; Master’s degree preferred.
· Certification from a recognized national or state Authority in Addiction Counseling or national licensure – ALC, LPC, LSW.
· Proficient in the core areas of Christian counseling, including Christian growth and development, relationship management, group counseling, case management and professional ethics

Pay: $21.21 - $25.39 per hour
