Assistant Instructor for JING After-School Program

We need an Assistant Instructor / Teaching Assistant for our After-School Program here in Scripps Ranch!

This is a part-time position with very regular afternoon hours:

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 1:15-5pm;
• Thursdays and occasional extra Minimum Days 11:15am - 5pm.
• Wednesdays and Thursdays are required; Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays are available and we would appreciate if you could work those days (but they are not required).

This Teaching Assistant position at JING entails:

• helping out in the JING Kids tumbling and Wushu (kinder kungfu) classes -- guiding PE activities.
• supervising students doing STEM classes online (keeping them on-task, answering questions about basic math and kids' programming).
• supervising children during their snack- and free-play-time.
• helping with light cleaning and other duties at JING.

Requirements:

• Reliable cell phone.
• Clean Background Check (to be completed by JING HR).
• Clean TB test.
• Can work the specified hours.
• Enjoys working with children.

Character Qualities:

• Firm, yet still joyful and empathetic with children.
• Passionate (and patient) about children's learning.
• Solid and calm.

The JING Kids Chinese After-School Program trains children in the mental, physical, emotional, and linguistic skills needed to succeed in a global market and in an interconnected world.

Knowledge of Chinese Language and Chinese Martial Arts are NOT required!
