Back Office Medical Assistant (MA) Job Description/Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our team!
The ideal candidate is a quick learner, well-organized, takes initiative, and has a significant background in providing excellent customer service! This individual must also enjoy working with people, and helping to ensure our patients are receiving timely, quality care. In addition, the ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, – listening included – the ability to establish long-term interpersonal professional relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the front lead in getting the office prepared for the day.
- Answer phones and return voicemails throughout the day, assisting patients with all needs.
- General scheduling for patients.
- Room patients and record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history.
- Sterilize and prepare medical tools and equipment for patient procedures.
- Preform patient procedures and medication reconciliation under direction of Providers
- Dispense and document any products, prescribed medication, shots, or immunization given.
- Update and maintain all patient records as needed.
- Check out patients making the following appointments and print any orders labs/imaging.
- Assist Providers throughout the day as needed, including completing any orders placed by Providers (inbox).
- Fax any imaging orders for Mammo, x-rays and ultrasounds to imaging locations and hand a copy to patient.
- Assist Front Lead in maintaining medical inventory, open any shipment boxes and notify Front Lead of inventory needs.
- Help train any new hires
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment.
- Complete all tasks assigned and check out with your Front Lead before leaving for the day.
- Other duties as needed assigned by Front Lead and/or general management.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience/background in providing outstanding customer service.
- Strong computer skills; knowledge of Epic and Microsoft Teams is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Solid interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and problem solving with all levels of management and staff.
- Skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
