What are the responsibilities and job description for the Calibration Specialist position at JJ Calibration, Inc.?
JJ Calibrations, Inc. is a local business that was established in 1984 and likes to focus on its employees as much as quality of calibrations and our customers. We service all measurement devices used in many fields, including medical, aerospace, laboratory, forensics, and manufacturing. We service not only locally, but have international customers as well.
We are looking for a person(s) to join our calibration lab. Every technician at JJ Calibration performs calibrations and repairs that meet or exceed our customers’ and the Company’s expectations of quality. We provided calibration services to multiple industries and parameters. These parameters include but are not limited too Electrical, Mechanical, Dimensional, Pressure, Torque, Temperature/Humidity, Pressure, RF/Microwave, Acoustic, and Time/Frequency.
Responsibilities/Duties may include -
- Calibration of customers tools
- Occasional adjustment or repair of customer tools
- On the job training
- Calibration of customers tools at their facility (Onsite)
- Driving company vehicles
Qualifications-
- Ability to stand up to 2 hours per day
- Ability to sit for up to 6 hours per day
- Basic computer knowledge
- Communication
- Attention to details
We are looking for individuals that have knowledge of one or more of the fields that we calibrate for our customers; AC/DC, Resistance, Impedance, RF, Temperature, RH, Time, Frequency, Dimensional, Mechanical, and much more. This knowledge may include any of the following; on the job training from a Calibration Lab, College Degrees, Military Training, or industry and OEM. With previous background and knowledge of calibration and Metrology, wages would start at $25 and hour. If a person has previous calibration experience from a commercial calibration lab, we would be able to offer up to $30 per hours starting.
Evals occur every quarter, where we review your quality and calibrations to determine a raise. In the first 90 days a review at 1 month and 3 months for raise opportunities.
Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO) is helpful.

We are a small company, with focus on our employees. Interaction with all employees happens everyday, as well as with our customers to various degrees.
While currently restricted by Covid regulations, we usually spend time together for Holiday parties and Sharing of traditions and meals. We cannot wait till we are able to spend time with our fellow staff together again.
