Job Description
JJ&S Environmental Services is seeking qualified and motivated Hazmat Technicians to join our team for a large wildfire recovery project in the Palisades, Los Angeles area. This project involves cleanup and abatement work in areas affected by recent wildfires. You’ll be part of a field team performing hazardous debris cleanup, and other remediation work in a challenging but rewarding environment.
We are leaders in the removal of asbestos, lead, mold, biohazards, and wildfire debris, and are committed to delivering top-tier service across California.
Requirements – Must Have the Following Certifications and Exams Current:
- HAZWOPER (40-hour) certification
- Asbestos Certification (NATEC or equivalent)
- Medical clearance including: Respiratory clearance, Fit test and Physical exam
Responsibilities
- Follow all OSHA, AQMD, and EPA safety guidelines
- Perform wildfire debris removal, asbestos abatement, and general site cleanup
- Contain and remove hazardous materials from residential and commercial properties
- Wear full PPE, including respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, etc.
- Work in physically demanding environments, including outdoors and in structures affected by fire
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
