Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately while adhering to company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to enhance the customer experience.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding product availability and promotions.
- Upsell products when appropriate to maximize sales opportunities.
- Assist in product demonstrations to engage customers and promote new items.
- Support supervisory staff by training new cashiers and providing guidance as needed.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette for customer interactions.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience in sales or upselling techniques is a plus.
