General Summary
This role is within J&J’s Procurement & Logistics department supporting the logistics and fleet maintenance programs, and other areas as required. Under minimal supervision, coordinates with various functional and program representatives to deliver support in delivery of goods and materials and tracking information to ensure full accountability of the company’s vehicle and equipment fleet.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Expediting: Coordinate shipment of materials, communicating with suppliers and freight forwarders to obtain accurate status of shipments, proactively updating program and other end users on the status of their shipments. Assist with streamlining warehousing and distribution process, set clear logistics KPIs to track delivery performance and cost reduction, identifying supply chain single points of failure to eliminate/mitigate potential affects. Support establishing and managing global freight forwarding agreement across J&J.
- Fleet: Working with vendors and internal approvers to procure vehicles, issue and manage fuel cards, establish vehicle leases, and upfit vehicles including telematics setup and management. Support also includes working with Finance teams to properly account for charges and apply to the correct Accounts
- Ad hoc duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
- Familiarity with standard computer applications, Microsoft Suite
- Power BI
- Ability to utilize data analytics to improve supplier and shipping performance
- IBM Maximo and Fleet Management software is preferred
- Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees (remote and in person).
Work Experience
- 3-5 years experience
- Experience with US Government contracting and a moderate level of understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Experience of relevant supply chain duties.
Education, Licenses and Certification
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
